Community Living Chatham-Kent

Everybody "Toonie" Campaign - 2009

For the past ten years, family and friends of the people we support have been joining together to make Community Living Chatham-Kent’s Everybody Campaign a success. It’s hard to believe, but more than $135,000 has been raised by this one campaign. This wouldn’t be possible if it were not for people like you.

Once again, we are asking that you join with your fellow parents, caregivers, and friends to support the campaign. Over the years we have heard participant recommendations and suggestions for improving this campaign, to add to its success. Keeping those in mind, we have changed the format to not only make this campaign easier for you to manage, but also hopefully raise your excitement about this long-standing program.

We are now asking people to take little film canisters (which we will provide), to distribute them to family, friends, colleagues, or anyone who may want to participate and donate to Community Living Chatham-Kent by filling their container with their “Toonies”. That’s right no receipt books this year.

The 2009 Everybody Toonie Campaign is fun, simple, easy! And no door to door canvassing.

All the money that is raised will be used to support the following programs:

  • Employment Services, working with people and businesses to develop paying jobs
  • Sheltered Employment, providing work experience and skill development for people ages 18 – 65
  • Family and Community Supports, enhancing the quality of life for people who live independently or with their family
  • “Making It Happen”, connecting people and their communities and encouraging people to acquire the skills and confidence for lifelong learning
  • Residential Accommodations, providing up to 24-hour supervision in several homes in Chatham-Kent
  • Respite Services, providing an out-of-home service to children and families
  • Day Programs, helping to promote skill development, enhancing quality of life while providing respite for families
  • Volunteer Services, connecting people and helping to make a difference in the lives of those who have an intellectual disability
