Who gets support from Community Living?People who have a developmental/intellectual disability and live in Chatham-Kent are eligible for services. An intellectual disability is a significant learning impairment that may cause a person to have difficulty adapting to the demands of everyday life.
How can I access supports and services from Community Living?
To meet the needs of people and families, we will meet with you to get to know a little about you and what you are looking for. We will share information about the supports and services we offer and can begin to discuss how we might help meet your needs.
What if Community Living can't meet my needs?
If we can't provide the services needed, we will work with our Community Partners through CADS (Chatham-Kent Coordinated Access to Developmental Services) to seek other options for you to consider.
What happens next?
We will work together to prepare a detailed plan that outlines your abilities, strengths, needs and dreams for the future. We will also look at ways that everyone can be involved in helping you be successful and as independent as you want to be.
